The Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Auwal Jatau has warmed government officials against any act capable of sabotaging efforts to enhance salary administration in the state.
Jatau stated this at the inauguration of a retreat for Commissioners, Special Advisers and Permanent Secretaries, on Monday in Bauchi.
He said the state government adopted pay solution software to address challenges in salary administration, especially in workers’ normal roll and pay roll.
“Gov. Bala Mohammed is concern about the challenges being experienced in the salary administration.
“Therefore, the government will not hesitate to deal decisively with whoever found sabotaging its efforts in that regard,” he said.
He said the Mohammed’s administration has checked ghost workers, corruption and irregularities in the salary administration in the state.
“There is no gainsaying the fact that the smooth administration of salary is crucial to the successful functioning of any government.
“The use of modern technology such as Pay Solution software has revolutionised the way we manage our finances, increase efficiency and reduce error in salary administration.
“The importance of accuracy in the payment of salary and allowances cannot be overemphasised,” he said.
According to Jatau, welfare of the civil servants is a priority of the present administration, recognising the important role they play in the delivery of good services to the citizens.
Earlier, Alhaji Yahuza Haruna, the Head of Service (HoS), said the exercise was part of the government’s commitment to sanitise salary administration for a credible and sustainable payroll system.
He said the state government provided needed infrastructure and resources to enhance operations of the workers.
“As well as implement promotions and other incentives in the system thereby improving the human resources in the civil service towards ensuring a transparent and fair salary administration,” he said
He, therefore, urged the participants to utilise the knowledge learnt in the discharge of their duties. (NAN). READ ALSO:
