Former Super Eagles defender Taribo West believes Jose Peseiro still has a lot to do to get the team ready for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles struggled in recent friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
Peseiro’s side were held to a 2-2 draw by Saudi Arabia, while they beat Mozambique 3-2.
West stated that the Super Eagles must improve on their performance to make impact at the 2023 AFCON.
“We have to work on every department of the game. This is where the pedigree of the coach comes in,” he told Brila FM.
“Only the coach can study his team to know the weaknesses and strengths and work on the area of their strength.

“We have certain kind of weakness in the back four, we have a small weakness in the midfield. This is why you employ coaches.
“The coach should look at the team and build the players up to a great team.”
