Stanley Eguma’s side are the only surviving Nigerian club on the continent.
Rivers United eliminated Etoile Filante from Burkina Faso to reach the money-spinning group phase of the Confederation Cup.
The top two teams in the group will earn a berth in the quarter-finals.
