Kano Pillars have been prohibited by the Nigeria Premier Football League board from signing new players

This is due to the club’s inability to pay their former goalkeeper Bassey Akpan his salaries.
It would be recalled that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ordered Kano Pillars to pay the outstanding N11.8m owed Bassey within 21 days in June 2023.
The club is yet to comply with the NFF’s directive.
The NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi announced that the ban will not be lifted until both parties reached a compromise. READ ALSO:

Abdu Maikaba’s side secured promotion to the NPFL last season after spending one year in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The former NPFL champions will take on Sunshine Stars in their opening fixture of the 2023/24 season on Saturday.
