The newly elected National President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, fnipr, has emphasized the dire need for Nigeria to harness and explore the talents, traditions and capital resources of her diverse ethnic groups to actualize the ideal of nation building, through unity in diversity.
Dr. Neliaku made the disclosure while receiving a delegation of Yoruba members of the NIPR FCT, known as The Omoluabi Forum. “There’s nothing wrong in having smaller groups within a larger one, especially when all is working together for the over all success of the main entity,” the reputation management professional revealed.
Earlier on, the Convener of Omoluabi Forum, Chief Akinrogun Alaba Yusuf delivered a congratulatory and advisory speech on behalf of his 10-man group, which had Fellows, a traditional Oba and other eminent practitioners. The Omoluabi’s statement read as follows:
“There’s a historical nexus and common bond between NIPR and Omoluabi.
The terminology Omoluabi is an agelong revered Yoruba belief in etiquette, decent behavior, effective communication, good reputation and positive attitude management and the creation of mutual understanding and resolution of conflictual situations.
We are therefore delighted to have you as the leading helmsman in the Institute. And you can count on our unflinching support.
It is also a measure of pleasure that one of our own, Fellow Olubunmi Badejo is amongst your dream team at NIPR Council. She has our full backing.
Furthermore, please convince your team to ensure through legislation that Council Members are legitimately elected or selected by their individual Chapters. There should be no representation without people’s participation, we submit.
It is also our desire to work in concert with your administration, not as ethnic jingoists, but partners in NIPR progress chasing and, in turn, nation building.
We therefore wish to remind your esteemed self of the need to prioritise the mantras of professionalism and excellence in our noble discipline, through qualitative career guidance, mentoring, members’ welfare and accessibility to free flow of useful information. READ ALSO:

Finally, we once more warmly congratulate you Mr. PResident and your well-chosen Council Members.
Best wishes Sir. More grace and steady pace to your team.
May we all continue to be of good use to ourselves and humanity at large.”
