The Super Eagles of Nigeria will now begin preparations for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe on Wednesday.
The three-time African champions were initially expected to kick-start their preparation for the dead rubber clash in Uyo on Monday (today).
But the delay in the renewal of head coach Jose Peseiro’s contract and late release of the team list has forced a shift in the date.
The encounter is billed for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Sunday.
The Super Eagles have already qualified for the 2023 AFCON finals, PROMPT NEWS reports.
Peseiro’s side must earn at least a point to be sure of topping the group ahead of second-placed Guinea Bissau, who are on 10 points and play at home to Sierra Leone in Bissau.
The 2023 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire. READ ALSO:
