The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play their home matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made the announcement during a courtesy visit to
Akwa Ibom Governor, Umo Eno.
Gusau announced the ground will host six international matches involving the Super Eagles from September 2023 till January 2025.
The first on the list will happen on Sunday 10th September 2023, when the Super Eagle will be playing their final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against São Tomé and Principe.
The five other games will be the qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup.
The first two rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers will be played between November 13 and 21. READ ALSO:

The Super Eagles are drawn in Group D along with South Africa, Benin Republic, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Lesotho.
The winners of the group will advance to the 2026 World Cup to be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, while the best runners-up will playoff for an additional place for Africa.
