Three Lionesses of England forward Lauren James has been given a two-match ban by FIFA for her red card in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup game with Super Falcons of Nigeria.
James was red carded for stamping on the back of Super Falcons right-back Michelle Alozie.
The European champions survived her dismissal to progress to the last-16 4-2 on penalties.
The dismissal came with an automatic one-game ban which FIFA has increased, meaning she will miss the semi-final if England get there.
Sarina Wiegman’s side will take on Colombia in the quarter -finals on Saturday.
The 21-year-old will only take part in the competition again if England make it to the semi-final. READ ALSO:

James is England’s top scorer in the tournament, having scored three goals, as well as assisting three more, in the group stages.
