Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has sworn-in two more commissioners with a charge to be prudent in discharging their primary assignments.

The ceremony was held at the Government House in Kano on Tuesday.

This is contained in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Mr Bature Dawakin-Tofa, in Kano on Wednesday.

Yusuf said their appointment was based on integrity and antecedents, asking them not to betray his confidence.

Those sworn-in included Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Auwalu, who was posted to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji, a new Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and Disabled.

Addressing the executive council after the swearing-in, Yusuf enjoined them to maintain the highest standard of professionalism, credibility and discipline in the discharge of their assignments.

“I urge you to remain steadfast in ensuring the full implementation of all our policies, programmes and projects as contained in our blueprint and action plan decument,” he charged.

The governor also called on the new cabinet members to synergise with their colleagues and other appointees for the overall interest of the state and government business.

“I must stress to you again that the performance bar is very high and I expect each and every member of the cabinet to live up to expectations and render selfless service to the people of our state,” he said.

Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the outstanding performance of the members of the executive council within a short time and tasked them to sustain the tempo. (NAN)
