Mr Nasiru Sule- Garo, Kano State Commissioner for Environment, has restated the state government commitment to ensure clean and waste free environment.
This is contained in a statement by Ismail Garba-Gwammaja, Director, Public Enlightenment in the ministry, on Wednesday in Kano.
The statement said the Commissioner stated this during a courtesy visit by Mr Usaini Aliyu-Madobi, the newly appointed Managing Director, Kano Sustainable Project (KSP).
Sule-Garo reitrated the government committment to improve the living standard of the people through clean, hygienic and waste free environment.
“I personally discovered and witnessed a lot of issues during my visitation to the agency as a Commissioner for Environment. With the commitment and zeal by the present administration, all the issues would be address adequately,” he said.
He charged the managing director to be proactive towards reinvigorating the agency in view of its significance to the wellbeing of the people of the state.
Earlier, Aliyu-Madobi said the visit was to formally introduce himself and discuss vital issues regarding the agency for considerations.
He identified lack of accommodation, operational vehicles, dilapidated equipment as some of the challenges militating against its operations.
He, therefore, sought the support of the commissioner to address the problem, to enable it to support Ggovernment’s policies and programmes. (NAN)
