Super Falcons captain, Onome Ebi has explained the importance of Thursday’s clash against Australia.
The nine-time African champions will return to action against the Matildas at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Thursday.
Randy Waldrum’s side started the competition with an impressive 0-0 draw against Canada.
The Falcons and Canada occupy second position in Group B with one point each.
Australia, who defeated Republic of Ireland 1-0 in their first game top the group with three points. READ ALSO:

Ebi claimed the Super Falcons must beat the Matildas to boost their chances of securing a place in the knock out round.
“It is very important to us to collect the three points on Thursday. That will put us in a great position before we play the Irish,”Ebi told thenff.com.
The Super Falcons will welcome back Rasheedat Ajibade and Halimat Ayinde for the game.
The duo missed the game against Canada due to suspension.
