Determined to get a good result against Canada in the first Group B clash billed for Melbourne Rectangular Stadium in the early afternoon Australia local time and early Friday morning in Nigeria, Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has named a strong squad to face the reigning Olympic champions with Asisat Oshoala leading the pack.
According to Falcons’ startlist obtained by Prompt News on Thursday night, reliable goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie will be between the sticks while the back four will be anchored by veteran central defender, Osinachi Marvis Ohale who will be supported by youngster, Oluwatosin Demehin with two full backs, Ashley Plumtre and Michelle Alozie starting in the 4-2-4 formation.
In the midfield, ex-junior internationals Christy Ucheibe and Deborah Abiodun will fill the gaps created by the absence of two key midfielders Rasheedat Ajibade and Halimat Ayinde who are ruled out of a precious cards offence.
