Chief Imam of Adebisi Mosque in Sawmills Area of Old Ife Road, Ibadan, Oyo State, Imam Abdulsalam Alekina has urged Muslims faithful to be wary of the graveyard which is their last abode.
He said no matter how rich or poor anyone can be, the graveyard is not a respecter of anybody.
Imam Abdulsalam Alekina gave the sermon at the burial of Alhaji Abdulwahab Akanji Ajao.
The 87-year-old retired civil servant of the Oyo State Ministry of Agriculture died on Saturday after a brief illness at his residence at Sawmills, Old Ife Road, Ibadan.
The Chief Imam urged the family members of the deceased to continue praying for him, as well as asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings.
He said Baba Ajao was loved by all and sundry, who always contribute his widow’s mite anytime he was called by Jammah of Adebisi Mosque.
The Imam prayed Allah to grant the departed elder the eternal rest and Aljanal firdaus as well as grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Alhaji Abdulwahab Akanji Ajao was survived by his wife Rilwat Omowumi and 10 Children. They are Mrs Fayisat Iyabo Olakami, Mr. Moshood Adebayo Ajao, Mrs Abidemi Odafe, Mrs Sherifat Ifedayo Adeniyi and Mrs Rukayyat Temitayo Akinola.
Others include Mrs Shakirat Temitope Adedeji, Dr. Mrs Qudirat Oluwatoyin Hassan, Mr Seyi Ajao, Mrs Mosurat Omoyemi Oyebode and Mrs Rafat Omotola Famoyede.
