Super Falcons and Barcelona forward, Asisat Oshoala has been nominated for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award.
The organiser of the award, France Football made the announcement on their official Twitter handle.
Oshoala will battle four other players for the Socrates Award category of the Ballon d’Or.
The 28-year-old was recognised for her exemplary work through the Asisat Oshoala Foundation.
The foundation empower young women through both sport and education.
Other players in the running for the award are Vinicius (Brazil/ Real Madrid), Antonio Rudiger (Germany/Real Madrid), Marcus Rashford (England/Manchester United), Alex Morgan (USA/San Diego Wave).
