Sen. Teslim Folarin, the APC governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections in Oyo State, has called on Muslims to pray fervently for President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria’s rebirth.
This is contained his Eid-el Kabir message issued by his Media Aide, Yekeen Olaniyi, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Ibadan.
Folarin, a former Senate Leader, described Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid-l-Adha, as a festival of love, peace, togetherness and sacrifice.
He enjoined Muslims to use the occasion to uphold the spiritual benefits of the celebration by extending hands of charity, friendship and solidarity across all divides.
Folarin urged them to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and obedience to God, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, which was also upheld by Prophet Muhammed.
“Eid-el-Kabir presents opportunity for us to reflect and pray for our nation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as others in leadership positions.
“We pray that God, in His infinite mercy, will continue to guide them as they steer the affairs of the country,” he said.
He urged Nigerians to put aside religious, ethnic and political differences, while pushing for a united country.
Folarin said that the president had started on a good note and, therefore, needed fervent prayers to pilot the country to prosperity.
“Nigerians are enjoined to continue to live together in peace, be law-abiding and eschew hate and bitterness to enable President Tinubu to ensure rebirth of Nigeria that we can all be proud of,” he said.
The politician applauded leaders and members of APC in the state for their mature conduct after the 2023 general elections, preaching continuous unity of purpose. (NAN)
