The Kwara House of Assembly has advised the Chairman, Transition Implementation Committee, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Mr Jide Shonibare, to ensure proper management of facilities under his watch.
This is part of the resolutions of the House, after considering the report of Ad-hoc Committee on a petition against Shonibare, presented by Deputy Speaker, Mr Raphael Adetiba (APC/Oke-Ero) at Tuesday’s plenary.
In the petition authored one Alhaji Alasi Sikiru on behalf of the community, the TIC chairman was alleged of withholding 7.5 Perkins Generating Set meant for Oke-Oyan Basic Health Hospital.
Adetiba observed that the generating plant was part of the healthcare equipment provided by the Federal Government for health facilities across 774 local government areas in the country, including the Oke-Oyan Basic Health Centre.
He said when the ad-hoc committee was on oversight to the facility at Ile Ire District, it looked abandoned, unkept and described some of the submissions of the TIC chairman during the committee’s investigation as unsatisfactory.
Reading the resolutions of the House, Speaker Yakubu Salihu enjoined Shonibare to tidy up Oke-Oyan basic healthcare centre before installing the generating plant for the benefit of the community. (NAN)
