The Taraba House of Assembly says it has processed 40 bills, comprising legislative and executive ones meant for good the governance of the state.

Mr John Bonzina, the Speaker of the house said this at the valedictory session of the 9th assembly in Jalingo.

Bonzina earlier read a message of proclamation from Gov. Agbu Kefas, ordering the dissolution of the 9th assembly following the expiration of its tenure.

“I want to announce here that during the more than 700 sittings in the house, we processed bills that were key to the development of the state such as Taraba Contributory Health Insurance Agency Law, No. 6 of 2019 and the Taraba State College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Jalingo (Establishment) Law No. 01 of 2022, among others.

While the outgoing members took turns to talk about their experiences in the house, Bonzina appealed to the newly elected members to exhibit the spirit of cooperation and unity to legislate for the interest of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that out of 24 members of the Taraba Assembly, only four were re-elected at the 2023 polls to be part of the 10th assembly which is scheduled to be inaugurated on Friday.(NAN)
