Minister of State for Works, Adedayo Adeyeye has raised the alarm on activities of some fraudsters, operating fake facebook accounts in his name, and using them to dupe unsuspecting people.
The minister warned members of the public against falling victims of the fraudsters, operating the fake facebook accounts.
He said unsuspecting members of the public are being duped by the fake facebook operators in exchange for contracts the ministry of works.
Adeyeye said that he does not chat with anyone on social media saying; “Do I have time to chat on Facebook?”
The minister said: “It is alarming that some people are falling victims of this cheap fraud by believing that I could be chatting on Facebook and telling people to pay money into certain account to get government contracts.
“It has therefore become necessary to alert the public of this fraudulent acts and those falling victims should take note.”
