The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has denied collapsing its structures into another party in Abia, ahead of Saturday’s governorship and Houses of Assembly elections.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Victor Fingesi, the ADP National Secretary on Thursday in Abuja.
Fingesi said that contrary to some media reports, the party’s governorship candidate in Abia as well as its 17 state house of assembly candidates had also not moved into another political party.
“ADP wishes to inform party members, supporters and the good people of Abia that neither the party nor its governorship candidate, Mazi Chibuike Jonas has gone into alliance with any political party.
“Contrary to the story in circulation, ADP is a serious contender in the 2023 general elections and cannot stoop to such compromises.
“The loving people of Abia State and supporters of our great party are therefore urged to disregard the stories in circulation as it is the handiwork of those rummaging through the political garbage for crumbs,” he said.
Fingesi urged the party’s supporters to go out enmasse to vote for the governorship candidate and state Houses assembly candidates in order for them to emerge as governor and representative of the various constituencies in the state. (NAN)
