In accordance with the provision of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday handed Certificate of Return to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shetima.
At a short but impressive ceremony at International Conference Center, Abuja, INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu handed Tinubu and Shetima their Certificate of Return with their wives standing by their sides.
The former Governor of Lagos was the first to receive the framed certificate while Shetima took his turn last.
In his acceptance speech, Tinubu repeated most of the statements he made early morning of Wednesday after he was declared the winner of the February 25 Presidential Election, saying that he will be the President for Nigerians.
