By Gracious Akujobi General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Musa Amadu, said guidelines and delegates list for most states leading up to the state FA elections have been endorsed by the Federation.
“Most of the states have sent their guidelines and we have almost endorsed all except some few which we have to draw their attention and ensure that everybody is given a fair chance to contest for any position they want to contest so that the boards are a reflection of the state FA councils in the state,” he told Prompt News in Abuja.
He reiterated that NFF will not take it lightly with third party interference as stipulated by FIFA.
Amadu spoke further, “We need to make it absolutely clear just like when FIFA says if the NFF is having its elections there should be no third party interference and this also applies to all the state FA’s because they are affiliates of Nigeria Football Federation.
“We want them to take decisions with regards to their elections without any third party interference or influence so that at the end of the day the board that is elected to run the affairs of the state FA for the next four years are not influenced by any person outside of football.
“We expect that this elections will commence this February, all the elections will take place in all the thirty seven affiliates FA’s of the NFF and we will send observers to ensure that this elections are done within the guideline” he stated.
Elections into the Boards of the Football Associations of the 36 States and the FCT have been scheduled for 15th – 28th February, 2015, with a number of the States having fixed dates for their elections already.
Prompt News gathered that 13 FAs out of the 37 are yet to send guidelines, dates and their appeals/electoral Committee list to NFF.
