The Head Coach of National U-17 Team (Golden Eaglets), Nduka Ugbade has bitterly expressed dissatisfaction over pressure from agents to have their wards tested.
According to one of the assistant coaches who pleaded not to be mentioned, he received calls at odd times between the hours of 11p.m – 2 a.m pushing for their players both invited and uninvited.
The source revealed that even foreign agents /scouts are not left out of the pressure.
“I know the head coach is doing his best to resist them and he changed his telephone numbers severally to avoid them.
“He also warned us his assistants not to succumb to these agents. Our target is to qualify for FIFA World Cup by doing well at the AFCON U-17,” the source said.
The source further stated that the former Eaglets Captain gave a stern warning to the players not to involve any third party as his selection would be on merit.
“You see these agents are very funny and if you are not careful you will fall to their tricks and when you failed they will be the first to crucify you.
“I have won the FIFA World Cup as a player, assistant coach and now is my time as a chief coach to win the World Cup. Tell your promoters/agents to stay away from my camp”.
