The Northern Alliance Group has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to fire Minister of the FCT, Bala Mohammed for calling Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state an APC mole.
In a statement released in Abuja and signed by Idris Sanni, the group said such misguided statements at this critical stage of the presidential campaign was capable of causing bad blood between Mr. President and governors who are his most reliable allies in his re-election bid.
The group also asked Mr. President to take seriously, Governor Yuguda’s allegation that the FCT minister along with his fellow conspirators were behind the stoning of the President at the rally in Bauchi.
“Senator Bala Mohammed since he could not realise his dream of becoming governor of Bauchi state has been bitter and thought himself and his supporters will be embarrassing Governor Isa Yuguda by their actions and we are aware that those arrested are confessed Bala Mohammed supporters” the statement said.
The Northern Alliance Group further described Bala Mohammed’s actions as typical of many of Mr. President’s ministers who put their personal interest ahead of their duties and commitment to President Jonathan.
“We are advising the President not to fall for this cheap ploy as the governors including Governor Yuguda are more important to him at this stage and not ministers like Bala Mohammed who do not have any electoral value in their states. “the statement added.
The Northern Alliance Group in the statement asked the FCT minster to tender an unreserved apology to Governor Isa Yuguda as refusal to do so will be tantamount to biting the fingers that fed him and disrespecting the one under whose political tutelage he emerged.
