The board of the Nigeria Women Football League has tentatively fixed March 31, as kick off date for 2014/2015 Premier league season.
In a communiqué signed by Emmanuel Zira and made available to Prompt News, the board took a critical review of the just concluded 2013/2014 league season and adjudged it as one of the best seasons so far.
            The communiqué read in part:
The Board resolved that the 2013/14 congress of the Nigeria Women Football League shall hold on the 6th of March, 2015 in Abuja and appointed a 4 man planning committee for the congress.
The Board resolved that there will be a promotion of two clubs from the pro-league division to the premier league to bring the total number of premier league clubs to 14 for the 2014/2015 league season.
The Board resolved that there will be no relegation this season considering the small size of the premier league and most importantly, the situation with the insurgency in the North East sub-region that impacted on the league.
The Board resolved that there shall be the champion of champions’ tournament between Rivers Angel who won both the league and the Federation Cup and Pelican Stars who were the runners up in the 2013/2014 league season.
The Board also resolved to play a match between the winner of Group A and B of the pro-league to determine the overall winner of the pro-league
The Board also resolved that there will be the unveiling of the NWFL logo and website as well as an award night for its outstanding players and officials.
The Board unanimously passed a vote of implicit confidence on the NWFL chairperson Dilichukwu Onyedinma for her steadfast commitment towards the effective running of the NWFL and her effective representation of the NWFL interest at the NFF.
