Egypt defender, Omar Mageed is a major doubt for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, reports Prompt News.
Mageed is currently nursing an injury and might not recover before the start of the competition, according to reports emanating from the North African country.
The Hamburg defender potential absence will no doubt be a big loss for the Young Pharaohs.
Egypt will host the biennial competition from February 19 to March 11.
The hosts will come up against Mozambique in the opening game at the Cairo International Stadium on January 19.
The Pharaohs will come up against Nigeria three days later before rounding up their group stage campaign versus Senegal on January 25.
