With the ongoing distribution of permanent voter cards by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly and flag bearer of APC for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency, Razak Atunwa, has tasked Kwarans on collection of their permanent voters’ card.
Atunwa made this known during a campaign visit to Ilorin West Local Government of the state, “The distribution of PVC by INEC is ongoing across the state, I urge you all to troop out en mass to collect your permanent voter’s card if you are yet to collect it” he stated.
Atunwa who was welcomed by mammoth supporters in Adewole, Ogidi, Oloje, Ubandwaki, Ajikobi and Alanamu wards of Ilorin West emphasized the import of PVC in changing Nigeria stating that it is impossible for anyone to change the current situation of Nigeria if he or she does not have a permanent voter’s card which qualifies everyone that has clocked voting age to vote.
“It will be worrisome and disappointing if any eligible voter is unable to vote due to failure to collect PVC after waiting for so long over the years under this poor leadership of PDP; our vote is the only power to liberate Nigeria from the shackles of corruption, unemployment, poverty, poor economy, insecurity among other problems the Jonathan led administration has been unable to resolve” he said.
“As residents and indigenes of Kwara that is ranked as one of the best performing and most secured state in the country, it is incumbent on us all to make sure that we individually obtain the PVC and participate in the forthcoming elections. As you all know, the importance of this permanent voter’s card cannot be overemphasized. Without this all-important card, our dream of electing a people-oriented government and effecting the much needed positive change in our country cannot be possible” he added.
Further speaking, Atunwa charged voters to come out massively on February 14th and 28th , 2015 to vote for All Progressive Congress candidates and defend their votes passionately.
“Come February 14th and 28th, I urge us all to come out in millions to vote for APC candidates; we must vote and wait for the votes to be counted and announced before we leave our various polling booths. No Army or Police will kill you for exercising your right as Nigerian; they are designed to protect us on Election Day. So I charge you all to vote and defend your votes with all doggedness” he said.
Atunwa who received royal blessings from the Emir of Ilorin in a visit to his palace before the commencement of his campaign in Ilorin West Local Government also donated a million Naira toward the renovation of Gogoro mosque in Popo Giwa Ilorin and five hundred thousand Naira to Madinatu Al-ahdabiya mosque of the late Oniwasi Agbaye of Ilorin, Abayewo Ilorin.
