By Gracious Akujobi The General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Musa Amadu has clarified the role he played when he appeared at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) Switzerland last week.
Prompt News recalls that there has been contradicting reports in the media as to the role the General Secretary performed during the CAS hearing.
According to him, “I was in Lausanne Switzerland at the Court of Arbitration for sports but as a witness for FIFA in a case brought against it by the Chris Giwa led NFF with Yahaya Adams the Kogi State FA Chairman.
“Giwa gave Yahaya Adams the power of attorney as the so called NFF President to sue FIFA, I did not go there to represent “his NFF” I went there to give evidence on behalf of FIFA.
“They are suing FIFA in the name of NFF asking the court of Arbitration for sports in Lausanne Switzerland, to reject the decision by FIFA not to recognize the fact that no election took place on August 26, 2014.
“We here know categorically well that no election took place on that day and it was on the basis of the report from NFF and the group of FA chairmen that wrote a report on that day to FIFA that FIFA now acted in order not to recognize that election.
“Why is Giwa in a hurry? Let him wait because the matter has gone to CAS. If CAS say yes election took place on August 26 (and God in heaven knows that no election took place) then let him come and do his Presidency and see how it goes.
“Without any much ado and with all the speculation going on, I think we should all wait for the final decision to be taken by CAS in this matter between Yahaya Adams & NFF and against FIFA” Amadu opined .
