A Bill seeking to establish the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Okota, Isolo, Lagos State has scaled second reading at the House of Representatives.
This followed the presentation of general principles of the bill by the sponsor Rep. Ganiyu Johnson at plenary.
Presenting the bill, Johnson said that it was aimed at facilitating the development of skill in entrepreneurship, innovation and related fields in Nigeria.
He said the bill would also help to tackle unemployment in Nigeria as students of the institute would be trained to utilize their hands in creating employment for themselves.
To this end, the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila ruled in favour of the bill without debate and referred it to the relevant committee further legislative input.
