Communities in Ifelodun Local Government of Kwara state have lauded the achievements of the Kwara state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed and classified his second term bid as a move that will bring more advancement to the state.
Royal fathers, community and religious leaders in Omupo, Igbaja, Oke Ode and Babanla have endorsed Governor Ahmed for a second term in office, saying his efforts to improve infrastructural amenities in the state was unprecedented. Speaking in turns during the Governor’s visit to the communities, the royal fathers and community leaders said the present pace of development should be sustained, thereby calling on people to vote the incumbent governor in the forthcoming governorship poll.
The Olomu of Omupo, Muhammed Adebayo Buhari who hosted the governor in his palace, commended him for the attention given to development in his domain and applauded the state governor for investing in youth development through its various employment schemes that have reduced youth unemployment in the state.
“The people of Omupo appreciate efforts made so far by the present administration of Governor Ahmed in the state in turning around our fortune through road construction, rural electrification, youth employment, security among others, which indicate that we are not left out in the scheme of this government” he said.
He appealed to the people of Omupo and its environs to pitch their tents strongly with Governor Ahmed and other All Progressive Congress candidates in the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria, the Olomu said, “Governor Ahmed has proven himself beyond our expectations and we must support him for continued development in the state; we must note that the governor cannot do it alone but he needs our continued support at the poll to be able to complete his ongoing good work in the state.”
According to Elese of Igbaja- Oba Amuda, Governor Ahmed has surpassed record of all administrations in the history of the state since its creation because he has been able to finish projects inherited from the previous administration and also commenced major projects in spite of dwindling Federal allocation and national challenges which have threatened the revenue of all states across the nation.
Elese declared one hundred percent support of indigenes and residents of Igbaja, saying, the people are solidly behind his administration’s quest of paddling canoe of Kwara to the Promised Land.
Addressing the governor in Babanla, the Arojojoye of Babanla, Aliu Alabi Yusuf expressed gratitude of people of Babanla to Governor Ahmed and Senator Bukola Saraki for putting smiles on their faces through the introduction of series of programmes. He commended the Saraki political structure and Governor Ahmed for constructing major roads in and through Babanla and assured him of full support in the forthcoming elections for all candidates under the platform of All Progressive Congress.
Speaking in his palace, the Oba of Oke Ode commended Governor Ahmed for his commitment to better lots of the people of the Oke Ode, Ifelodun and Kwara at large. He said those adjudged as never do well together with the down trodden in the society have had their fortune turned around by becoming useful, not only to themselves, but the entire Kwara community.
The monarchs commended the upgrade of traditional rulers across the state by Governor Ahmed and appealed to every well meaning people of Kwara to mobilize massively from door to door for the return of Ahmed Abdulfatah as governor of the state come February this year to allow him complete his ongoing good work.
The Governor who was accompanied by his deputy, Peter Kisira, Kwara State Speaker Razak Atunwa, the deputy speaker Prof. Yisa Gana, the SSG, Isiaka Gold and other members of the state cabinet assured the communities of exceeding progress beyond imagination upon reelection in the forthcoming coming election.
He urged Kwarans to get their PVCs in order to participate in the forthcoming election and vote for all APC candidates contesting various positions in the state and national levels.
