Two men, Emmanuel Ejike and Sanusi Sallau, alleged to have conspired and stolen an iphone 11 and N300, 000, on Tuesday, appeared before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The defendants, who were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy stealing and receiving stolen property, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.
The prosecutor, Dr Simon Uche told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Nov.15 at Plateau plaza located at the Trade fair-complex, Ojo.
He alleged that the first defendant stole a N270,000 iphone 11 cell phone and N300,000, belonging to the complainant, Mr Kenneth Anaebone.
Uche said that the second defendant allegedly received the stolen iphone, knowing it to be a stolen item.
The offences, the prosecutor said, contravened the provisions of sections 287, 328 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr L.J.K Layemi, granted the defendants each bail in the sum of N 200,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Dec. 21 for trial. (NAN)
