By Gracious Akujobi Ahead of March kick-off date for the 2014/2015 Glo Premier League, Head coach of Abia Warriors, Ladan Bosso has called for more live telecast of league matches.
The Former Flying Eagles handler made this call in Abuja where he applauded League Management Company (LMC) for its relentless effort in helping to improve the standard of the league, adding that if more matches are shown live it will bring sanity and fair play to the league.
“I want to use this medium to thank LMC for what they have done thus far. I also want to appeal to them to make sure that all matches in the league are covered.
“It will put more sanity to the league, it will also allow referee to do their job without prejudice and to be at alert because they know the world is watching,” he said.
Bosso frowned at the situation where club chairmen and administrators hate to see their home matches shown live on TV but prefer their away matches to be aired live.
He spoke further, “Last season alone, my team had the highest number of live telecast for our home matches (seven) while we had just two for away matches. Those away matches where at Enyimba where we won and at Akwa United where we got a draw. So, if have more matches beamed live we are sure of getting more points home and away” he explained.
Meanwhile, Bosso has called on all football stakeholders to bury their hatchet and allow peace reign in the football family.
“The greatest problem we are facing is the crisis which has engulfed football. I want to appeal to all administrators and stakeholders to bury their hatchets for peace to return to football” he stated.
