A 60-year-old man, Wole Bakare, on Monday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing his employer’s N4.3million.
The defendant, a sales advisor, who resides at 8, Ajiboye Crescent, Orile Agege, Lagos, was docked for stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Felicia Okwori told the court that the offence was committed between July 1 and August at SOHAS S.S. Ventures on Ogba Road, off Oba Akran Avenue, Agege, Lagos.
Okwori said that the company is a subsidiary of DHL Nig. Ltd.
Okwori said that the defendant was allegedly found to have stolen N4.3 million from the company’s coffers, when the company’s accounts were audited.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr L.O. Owolabi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Owolabi adjourned the case until Oct. 28 for mention. (NAN)
