Bankole Olowookere, head coach of Nigeria’s team, is confident his team will defeat Chile on Monday at the ongoing 2022 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup in India.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Flamingos will face their Chilean counterparts in their third and final match of the stage group.
Olowookere said the team was set win the match so as to advance to the knockout stage of the competition.
“The same approach we used to defeat New Zealand on Friday will also be applied in our third match.
“We have to be more careful because it is a step to the quarter-finals and also a step out of the tournament.
“We will be more cautious from the onset to the last minute of the game. But the girls are determined to win the game, and with focus, dedication and seriousness the game will be in our favour.
“We will put in all our strength, and a new strategy to end the match victorious and to also advance to the quarter-finals.,” he said.
NAN reports that the team lost their first match against Germany 2-1, and beat New Zealand 4-0 in their second match.
Nigeria are in Group B alongside Germany, Chile and New Zealand.
NAN reports that the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup began on Tuesday and will end on Oct. 30 in India. (NAN)
