The head coach of victorious Aiteo Cup Champion Depriye Tebowei has vowed to make an appreciable impact in the CAF Confederation Cup tournament which its draw holds on Friday.
Speaking exclusively to Prompt News Online in Benin, Tebowei revealed that the propeller behind the team’s success was the Executive Governor who gave him free access to his office at any point.
“I must tell you the governor is a lover of sports most especially football. When we got to semi final the governor invited the team and pleaded that we should present him with Aiteo Cup Trophy as a gift. I am happy we didn’t disappoint his Excellency.
“Secondly, we are highly motivated in terms of finances. The team is paid as at when due. All our entitlements are paid in advance so my boys have no choice than to give their all. This is the first time a state winning both male and female challenge cup.
“I know Bayelsa United Football Club will be underrated by the clubs in the continent but my boys will shock them. I can’t guarantee trophy being the first time a team from a lower league representing the country at the continental level but we will do our best to make Nigeria proud,” the coach assured.
