A Family Court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Thursday remanded a 31-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Michael Ayanlowo, at Abolongo Correctional Facility for allegedly defiling a 15- year-old girl.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi, who did not take the plea of Ayanlowo, ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Adetuyibi adjourned the case until Oct. 27 for mention.
The defendant, who resides at Ofiki town in Oyo State, is facing a charge of defilement.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Folake Ewe, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Sept.11 at 8p.m. in the Ito area of Ofiki.
Ewe said that the defendant had sexual intercourse with the girl without her consent.
He said that the case was reported to the police and the defendant was arrested.
Ewe said the offence contravened Section 34 of the Oyo State Child Rights Law, 2006. (NAN)
