In furtherance to his wide consultation with critical stakeholders in football in Nigeria, the leading aspirant in the forthcoming Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) presidential election and internationally recognised sports Safety and Security administrator, Dr. Christian Emeruwa has held a strategic meeting with the Chairmen of State Football Associations (FA) from North Central geopolitical zone of the country to brief them on his lofty plans to create a viable football economy that will benefit stakeholders if voted into office on September 30 in Benin City, Edo state.
The meeting which took place on Tuesday evening at John Wood Hotel, Abuja was attended in person by Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, Chairman Niger State Football Association; Alhaji Mohamed Alkali, FA Chairman Nasarawa state; Chief Sunday Longbap, FA Chairman Plateau state; Alhaji Issa Ladan Bosso, President, Nigeria Coaches Association and the COO, Nigeria Nationwide League, Mr. Sajo Mohammed.
Also, the Benue State Football Association Chairperson Hon. (Mrs.) Margrette Ichen was represented at the meeting while those who were unable to attend physical took permission.
They are Kogi State FA Chairman, Alhaji Umar Abubakar and his Kwara State counterpart Alhaji Idris Abdullahi while Alhaji Mohammed Mouktar of FCT was absent.
In his PowerPoint presentation to the FA Chairmen at the meeting, Dr. Emeruwa explained graphically his plans to create a viable football economy that will benefit stakeholders from players, coaches, administrators, sponsors, suppliers, Supporters, fans and journalists amongst others in the football industry.
The CAF Head of Safety and Security Department and former NFF Head of Integrity Unit solicited for their votes in the September 30 NFF presidential election and promised not to disappoint them when he assumes office.
However, Plateau FA Chairman who gave the vote of thanks expressed their satisfaction on his presentation, saying that they are very impressed with what they are hearing and have also seen for themselves who he intends to run the federation should he win the election.
Specifically, the FA Chairmen acknowledged the expectational preparations already made by Dr. Emeruwa in his quest to become the 44th President of NFF, including his foresight to hold a meeting with North Central FA Chairmen.
They collectively promised to do everything within their powers to see that the best candidate out of the lot emerged in the NFF Elective Congress in Benin City especially someone with the administrative acumen of Dr. Emeruwa.
