The organisers of the annual Awa Ibraheem Junior Open Golf Championship on Sunday, announced Oct. 21 and 22 as date for the 9th edition.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the annual cadet golf championship is being sponsored by a golf enthusiast, Awa Ibraheem, who also uses the tournament to mark his birthday.
The Organsing Secretary of the junior golf tournament, Emy Ekong in a statement, disclosed that the tournament would be nothing short of its previous glamour.
“The 9th Awa Ibraheem Junior Open Golf Championship will hold at the prestigious Ikeja Golf Club, Ikeja, Lagos State.
“The 2022 edition will be for ages 6 to 17 years while the arrival and accreditation will be on Oct. 20.
“The entry to this event will close on Oct. 7, to enable us prepare adequately for the event.
“We look forward to welcoming members of the public and our Junior players to the event again this year,” she said.
NAN recalls that two siblings golf prodigy, Destiny and six-year-old Funmilayo Oyero and Godwin Okoko emerged winners of the 2021 edition.
