The new Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Mohammed Bello Shehu who was recently sworn in by President Muhammadu Buhari, has assumed office for an initial five years tenure.
A statement by RMAFC Public Relations Officer, Christian Nwachukwu on Wednesday said Shehu assumed office on Monday, after his confirmation by the Senate as the substantive Chairman of the Commission.
In his brief remarks, the Chairman expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for finding him worthy for being given the opportunity to serve the Nation as RMAFC helmsman.
He pledged his readiness to execute the Commission’s mandates especially on monitoring and disbursement of revenue accruals into the Federation account alongside advising the Federal, State and Local government areas in the country on Fiscal Efficiency and methods by which their revenue generation can be increased.
Bello further expressed his willingness to work harmoniously with the Members of the Board, Management and Staff of the Commission in order to achieve its set goals.
This he said, would require full commitment and dedication to duty from all the critical stakeholders in the Commission which includes both Management and Staff with a view to achieving the desired result.
Mohammed Bello Shehu who was until his appointment, the secretary to the Commission, took over from Engr Elias Mbam who recently resigned his appointment.
