Zamfara state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), has established an outpost in Morai community in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of the state.
Commissioning the facility on Tuesday, the State Commandant of the Corps, represented by his Deputy, Musa Garba, said the aim was to bring security closer to citizens.
He charged the community members to cooperate with the corps and give the personnel all the necessary backings to achieve the desired goals behind the establishment of the outpost.
He extolled the resilient zeal of the pan cultural group called Morai Youth Development Association (MYDA) whose initiatives gave birth to the creation of the outpost.
Also in his remarks, the Deputy Commandant in charge of intelligence and investigations, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu, urged the community never to allow the outpost to suffer any form of set backs.
He maintained that security was everyone’s business as such, he enjoined all and sundry to be actively involved in the protection of lives and property.
He admonished the community to make good use of the opportunity availed to them.
Similarly, the president of the Morai Youth Development Association (MYDA) Hudu Hambali, thanked NSCDC for accepting their request to establish outpost in their community.
he promised to give the necessary backings to see that the outpost operated successfully in and around the community.
In his remarks, the District Head of Morai, Alhaji Abdulmalik Banaga, expressed joy at the establishment of the outpost.
He said as the host community, he would work out modalities to ensure a successful operation of the outpost.
He, however, bestowed the title of Mayana Morai on the representative of the State Commandant, Musa Garba, as an honour to reciprocate the gesture of the Corps in the establishment of the facility in his domain.
