Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi has approved the release of over N17.4 million as financial assistance to state candidates going for training into the military and para-military.
The approval is contained in a statement signed by the state Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena, and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
Garba-Bena stated that 369 candidates of Kebbi origin would be undergoing training into the Nigerian Police Force as constables.
Others include Direct Short Service and Direct Short Service Combatant Commission of the Nigerian Army.
The rest were for the 2022 recruitment into the Nigerian Air Force as Airmen/Airwomen.
Garba-Bena added that the governor’s gesture was meant to encourage the candidates and pursuant to his administration’s efforts to reduce unemployment among Kebbi youths.
“This is in addition to the determination of this administration to adequately fill the state quota in the aforementioned areas,” he further stated. (NAN)
