The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ekiti Province seven has donated drugs and food items to the Oba Adejugbe General Hospital, Ado-Ekiti as parts of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Delivering the items, the Assistant Pastor In-Charge of Province, Mr Rufus Osunlade, said the church decided to donate the items to assist the less privileged in the society access to quality health services in Ekiti.
The items according to Osunlade, included packs of assorted drugs, hospital consumables, hospital gadgets, and packs of noddles.
” We are here to donate these items to the patients, especially the vulnerable one, who may not be able to afford them in this hospital.
“We thank God Almighty for the grace to spread the gospel, aside preaching we are here to represent the Region 25 of RCCG, under the leadership of Mr Goke Kuti for the privilege to extend the hand of fellowship as our CSR,” Osunlade said.
He said the CRS team was from RCCG EKiti Province seven under the leadership of Mr Gabriel Adarabioyo, reiterating that according to the Holy Bible John 3:16, members of the CRS in the province had to present the token as a way of showing love.
He further said the church extended the arm of its CSR to donate some materials to the hospital, citing that ”God loves the world that He gave His only son,” if truly we love other people, we must rise to assist them,” to encourage them.
He restated the commitment of church at assisting the needy, saying in some places RCCG had done more with the assurance that the gesture will continue in Ekiti and beyond.
Commenting, Dr Joshua Oguntoye, a member of the CSR of RCCG Province seven said the team was at the hospital to deliver the message of the General Overseer, Enoch Adeboye.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Oba Adejugbe Hospital , Ado-Ekiti, the Chief Medical Director(CMD), Dr Samuel Omotoso, thanked God Almighty for what He is doing through RCCG General Overseer Adeboye.
Omotoso described the kind gesture as a great one, calling on others churches and well meaning Nigerians to emulate the good gesture.
He appealed to churches that go to the Ekiti University Teaching Hospital, to also extend such hand of fellowship with hospitals like the Oba Adejugbe Hospital, where most of the patients do not have money to treat themselves.
He promised that the items would go a long way in assisting the patients and the hospital, saying Government alone cannot be left do everything.(NAN)
