Sokoto State has declared Thursday and Friday work free days to enable workers to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Sokoto by Gov. Aminu Tambuwal’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Muhammad Bello.
“The work free days are also to allow local government chairmen and councillors to mobilise and sensitise eligible voters to go out and register.
“Workers will also use the period to collect their PVCs and vote at the 2023 general elections,’’ Bello stated.
Meanwhile, Gov. Tambuwal has sworn in Alhaji Aminu Bala-Bodinga and Alhaji Mainasara Ahmad as Commissioner and Secretary to the State Government, respectively.
He enjoined the new appointees to use their wealth of experience in the administration of the state and urged them to develop synergy with other ministries, departments and agencies in the state.
Tambuwal also appealed to the people of Sokoto State to exercise patience over the shortage of water supply. (NAN)
