Kano State Police Command has confirmed six persons, including two female suicide bombers dead in the explosion that rocked the ancient City of Kano on Wednesday.
The bombers carried out the dastardly act at the popular Kantin Kwari Market.
Speaking with newsmen at the scene of the blast, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Aderele Shinab, said seven persons that were injured are receiving treatment at Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital.
According to him, the two female bombers had pretended to be buyers of textile materials and detonated their improvised explosive device during a argument.
Kano City has witnessed series of bomb explosions of late.
Prior to this, the Central Mosque in the City was bombed, leading to loss of no fewer than 120 lives and hundreds others injured.
