Nigerian troops Wednesday morning in Konduga, Borno State destroyed a vehicle laden with Improvised Explosive Device (IED) meant for suicide bombing operation by the Boko Haram insurgents.
The military has continued to repel attacks by terrorists in the north eastern part of the country and has been raining devastating blows on the terrorists’ hideouts and escape routes.
The incident in Konduga is the latest in the series of recent attempts being made by terrorists to make incursions into the town and other surrounding communities.
PRNigeria gathered that while undisclosed numbers of terrorists were killed, no personnel or civilian was affected in today’s incident.
A top military source urges residents to always report suspicious movements as well as strange people to appropriate authority for investigation and appropriate actions.
He said: “What we need from Nigerians is their supports, their encouragements and prayers to enable us overcome this insanity from unrepentant terrorists!”
Last week Friday, the insurgents detonated bomb explosives at the Kano Central Mosque during the weekly Jumat prayer, killing over hundred persons.
Barely 72 hours after the Kano attack, they again raided Damaturu, Yobe State capital early Monday morning and few hours later, bombed the Monday market in Maiduguri.
