Report reaching our news desk says there has been an explosion in Kano City, north western part of Nigeria.
The explosion, which left many dead was said to have occurred at the Kano Central Mosque during the Jumat prayer.
Kano Central Mosque is one of the biggest in the country and the Emir of Kano prays there.
Boko Haram insurgents have been intensifying attacks in the City of late.
