By Mohammed Yangida Lafia Nasarawa State Governor Umar Tanko Al-makura, has formally declared his intention to run for second term in 2015.
He made the declaration on Thursday at the Government House, Lafia.
The governor also used the opportunity to declare Friday 28 as public holiday to enable the citizens of the state get their permanent voters card ,which will end on November 30.
“I, Umar Tanko Al-Makura have humbly accepted to offer myself again as a candidate in the 2015 general election. I promise the good people of Nasarawa state that we will continue with our service to the people with due diligence, patriotism and above all the fear God,” he announced.
Al-makura thanked all Nasarawa citizens for reposing unprecedented confidence in him and finding him worthy to serve them again.
He said as a loyal servant entrusted with the stewardship of his state through the mandate of the people it is incumbent on him to render account of his administration over the past three and half years.
The Governor called on politicians to desist from making inflammatory statement capable of causing trouble in the state, adding that they should go about their campaigns with decorum.
