From Sam Ade, Abuja: The National Executive Committee of Sports Writers Association (SWAN) has thrown its weight behind the Kayode Adeniyi led FCT SWAN, calling on the Minister of the FCT, Bala Mohammed to as a matter of urgency sack the FCT Director of Sports, Alim Musa and the Secretary, Social Development, Blessing Onuh.
The FCT SWAN had earlier in a statement condemned the way and manner sports is being run by Alim Musa and Blessing Onuh and call on the Minister for their immediate removal in order to bring capable hands that will help in the development of sports in the Federal Capital Territory on board.
According to a statement by the National SWAN secretariat, the duo has run sports aground in the FCT despite huge amount being budgeted by the FCT administration for the provision of sporting facilities in the FCT.
The statement signed by the National SWAN Secretary, Andrew Abbah also called on the House of Representatives and the Senate committees on Sports to beam their searchlight on FCT as part of their oversight function to ensure the growth and effective administration of sports in the Federal Capital Territory.
The National SWAN also alleged that the Minister of FCT has refused to listen to the advice and warnings of the FCT SWAN and has failed to reposition FCT sports since he assumed office.
