Poland’s world number one Iga Swiatek continued her stunning run of form on Sunday with a 6-2 6-2 victory over Aryna Sabalenka in Stuttgart, giving her a fourth consecutive title.
Swiatek came into the WTA tournament in Germany after victories in Doha, Indian Wells and Miami, and proved way too strong for her fourth-ranked opponent from Belarus.
Around 4,300 fans watched the final which took one hour 24 minutes for Swiatek to take her 23rd win in a row.
Sabalenka was appearing in her second consecutive Stuttgart final, having also lost last year, to the now retired former world number one Australian Ash Barty. (dpa/NAN)
