The Director General of the National Sports Commission,(NSC) Gbenga Elegbeleye has expressed confidence in the abilities of the Super Eagles to book a qualification ticket for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations football fiesta.
“Yes if you look at Super Eagles position in the group standings you will be right to say that it will be very difficult for Nigeria to qualify. But this is Nigeria and the can do it, the spirit and will power of Nigerian footballers and athletes is the true spirit of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s Transformation agenda I am confident of Eagles victory in Pointe Noire.
“The Eagles have quality and talented players that can deliver the goods in Congo Brazzaville. I have the confident in the team and with the full backings of the National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Football Federation, I am confident that the Eagles will beat the Congolese on Saturday and put smiles on the faces of Nigerian soccer fans.
Meanwhile, The DG of the NSC is also confident of Nigeria’s representatives in the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships 2014 slated for Saturday and Sunday this week.
Elegbeleye disclosed that he has the conviction and confidence that the Eagles would book the 2015 AFCON ticket and that Chika Chukwumerije led Taewondo team will do well at the Glasgow Commonwealth Teakwondo
“We are praying for good results in both the AFCON 2015 qualifying match and the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships that is taking place in Glasgow this weekend and I am sure we will get it with God on our side”, he summed up.
