The Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society, a faith-based organisation, says it has commenced free Ramadan daily feeding for 2000 persons with a view of maximising the rewards of the holy month.

National Chief Imam of the society, Fuad Adeyemi, disclosed this while rolling out the Ramadan activities of the society at its 19 National Unity Ramadan Lecture on Sunday in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the annual lecture Ramadan has as its theme: ” Ramadan Shaping Leadership.”

Adeyemi said the theme was carefully chosen to reflect the happenings around, adding that the issue of leadership in Nigeria could never be over-emphasised.

” We are here once again to unbundle our basket of activities for the holy month of Ramadan. One of the content of the basket, is the award-winning food programme.

” We will feed more than 2000 people with three course meal daily. It is not a mistake that I use the word people and not fasting Muslims.

” Because over the years, not only Muslim have been benefitting from the programme, non-Muslims are received with open hands without discrimination,” he said.

Adeyemi said that other than daily feeding programme , raw food items would also be distributed to the indigents, adding that on Sallah day, the society also another feed-the-indigent programme.

He said everybody who would be coming for the Eid prayer would get a two-course-meal pack.”

He revealed that the society would use the Ramadan period to offer prayers for the nation as the 2023 General Elections are approaching.

The Guest Lecturer, Prof. Taofiq Abdul-Azeez, enjoined leaders at all levels to fear the almighty Allah, adding that if a leader is God-fearing, he would be merciful to the people.

He also said that a God-fearing leader would display consciousness and insist on the general good of the people and be interested on how people live.

He added that a good leader would not only be interested on policies on paper, but be interested in policy implementation.

” A good leader wants to know who is laughing, who is crying, who is happy, who is sad.

”He is conscious of the fact that the Almighty Allah will ask him about the effect of his leadership on the lives of people generally,” he said.(NAN)
